How many times do we scroll by posts like, “I was so honoured to be invited to speak on this panel…” or “Excited to have been a part of this meeting!” posts and wonder, “Who cares?”
If we’re being honest… Often. Daily. Multiple times daily.
What’s the motivation behind those posts? Everything posted on LinkedIn (or anywhere on social media) is just a bid for attention and connection, so if you want to actively DO that, here’s some helpful info:
SHARE AN INSIGHT
Skip “Honoured to attend” and give your audience a takeaway they can use.
ASK A QUESTION
Make it a conversation, not a monologue.
FOCUS ON IMPACT
Show how your contribution solved a problem or sparked action.
SHOW, DON’T TELL
Let photos, quotes, or event highlights do the talking.
CELEBRATE OTHERS
Shine a light on people or ideas that inspired you.
KEEP IT SHORT
Skip the fluff and get to the point.
Humblebragging doesn’t start conversations, but sharing value will.
